Is English now the languaue of popular music? Whatever happened to "Morgen", "Seemann," and "Nel blu di pinto di blu"? Not to mention "99 Luftballons" !

I was not especially taken by this video. Lyrics: (sorry) negligible. Sting did it better 25 years ago with "Every Breath You Take."

Music: negligible. Repetitious, and not much worth repeating.

Video: pretentious, to the point of seeming to be a parody. (Or was it.) Best howler moment: thewedding ring close-up. Hah!

This guy Hippner is the lead singer for Wolfsheim and he sings half of his songs in German and others in English.

German does sound really nice and I luved 99 Luftbaloons in German more than in English.

And you got me on Sting. Hands down, yes, Every Breath You Take is a much better song and video. A classic.

Yeah, the wedding ring close up. I thought it was kinnda funny too.

Believe me. I know it's not the best song or video by far and yes very repetitious but I like the rhythm and I like melancholy sounding songs with danceable electronic rhythm and harmony. I like texture. Sad overcurrent with happy undercurrent. It's my favorite type of music.
