Goatie

I've grown a goatie. I need a change in my look. I like it. I have very nice puffy lips and underneathe the goatie, it looks very kissable. Like a small puffy tight vagina. I like it to be called regina.

I went to Mercury and a new bartenderess who I had seen somewhere else said, "what happened?" I said, "this? I wnated to change looks." She said, "you look like a Korean gangster (she knew I was Korean. she's Korean too)." I said, "thank you sweetheart. That's the best compliment I've heard all day!"

A year ago, I was walking back from work on Park Ave. and I stopped by this Japanese hotel that I always pass by. I checked out its back restauraunt. Nice. Roomy. And some strange white guy in ponytails came upto me and asked me if I would stop by later for a film shoot. I asked, "what do you mean?" He said he was shooting an independent film and he thought I would be perfect as an Asian hitman. I was wearing my black matrix sunglasses, YSL black nylon trench coat and leather gloves. I liked the idea but I had to go take a nap. Could not promise. Missed the shoot.

Anyway, I like my goatie for now. I feel good about it. Girls dye their hair and/or get pedicures. Me. I shave or dont shave. Male lion. Yakuza boy.

Btw, bartendress squeezed my arm to get closer and said, "you have small arm." I said, "yeah, i'm intellectual." She said, "I'm intellectual too!"

I smiled (Sure. She's read Plato, Homer, Sophocles, and Shakespeare. NOT). Smile gone. I drank my beer.

I dont want a girl with a vagina. I need a woman who is at least my equal. A Siren, great. A Muse, even better. A Charlize Theron or Angelina Jolie.

Do you consider Charlize Theron and Angelina Jolie your equal? I don't expect you'll be getting much conversation about the "Phaedo" or "Philoctetes" from either of them.

That witty bartendress sounds far more clever than either. I suspect the subtext of her remark was: "Oh, small arm makes you an intellectual? Then I'm one too."

Charlize and Angelina are actually above me. Beautiful, welathy, famous, and well achieved. Charlize and Oscar and Angelina, UN ambassador.

As for the bartender girl. Believe me she was not witty nor being one.

Haven't read Philoctetes. I've only read a handful of the dialogues, Phaedo, Philemon, Philebus, Timaeus, Credo, Aplogy, Symposium, Republic. We'll be reading more. Loved them all.

Oscars?! The Oscars are voted on mostly by idiots. Mariah Carey ("Glitter") has the same vote as Vanessa Redgrave, who probably throws her ballot in the trash.

U.N. Ambassador? Not quite. Just a hyped up volunteer position cooked up by her PR firm to neutralize negative tabloid publicity surrounding her appallingly indulgent and whorish personal life.

Wealthy? Famous? I suppose. Impressive mostly to those who live the unexamined life. (Glad to hear your planning to read -- and one hopes, re-read -- some of the more important Plato.) I can't think of one person I admire simply because of either of those attributes.

Beautiful? Ya got me there.

Fredddddd!

Charlize and Angelina... meh. You need to target your muses more carefully! Anna Paquin and Julia Stiles are fellow Columbia types... I'd hope if they managed to get through your provincial American institution they could at least give you a credible opinion on the dialogues!

Doug,

I need 80% beauty and 20% brains. Brain 10% native intelligence and 10% learned.

Beauty for me is not the sole qualifier but a primary one.

Anna... not pretty enough. She's a 6. Julia Stiles. Yes. A solid 8 all around. But Charlize and Angelina's beauty is 10. So with their brains about a 7. It still scores well.

I don't think that there's a single woman in the world who is a 9+ in beauty that I can have a delectable intellectual conversation with.

I have never had an intellectual conversation with a woman. Intelligent and/or engaging yes but never intellectual. Quasi intellectual convo yes. But they're usally at most 7 in beauty. All of these quasis intellectual women have been overweight/fat ass, granola, or frumpy.

On the other hand, I had plenty of great intellectual convos with guys (you for example).

Have you ever met an intellectual and sexy woman? I havent yet and I'm not holding my breath.

But I must admit that at least in the short term. Good sex with a hot chick trumps intellect in the short run. Long term, thats another story.

Just for the record, I have met MANY women in my life who are both deeply intelligent and intellectually stimulating and challenging, and at the same time very beautiful. You may be looking in the wrong places. I would not expect to find people of this caliber at Bungalow or Mercury.

Actually, thinking hard on it, I have met 2 in my life so far. They were very well read and beautiful. So there you go. There are some and there's gotta be more of these jewels. I hope.

It goes without saying that such women (and equivalent men) are in considerable demand. Though by no means rare, the "supply" of such individuals never comes near to meeting that demand.

Of course, a number of other qualities of personality and character can often tip the balance in favor of a less than ravishing beauty, or a less than superlatively gifted and/or educated mind.

I will leave it to you to meditate on what those qualities might be.

And there is always the seemingly "perfect" man or woman who seems to have all the sought gifts of looks and brains, but turns out to be simply not grown up in some fatal deal-breaking way -- often with quite painful results if the relationship is very advanced when the discovery is made.

Fred,

I've met women who were very beautiful and also intellectual when I was at Oxford; I think these types of women gravitate towards the arts.
Consider refinining the places you look for them... going to parties at Sotheby's & Christies, joining something like the Apollo Circle at the Met, &c. would be a good start.

Are you going to be out and about this weekend?

Doug, I agree. It's the venues that I've been going to. There were definitely very attractive and intellectual women at Columbia. I had forgotten about that.

I'll probably be at the Pyramid again this Saturday.

Btw, my email is fredkwon@gmail.com

I wonder what that old "8", Julia Stiles, would rate me? Or, uh, you. I suspect that, unless she were especially adroit at seeing our wonderful "inner" qualities, her ratings for the two of us combined might not break 5.

Speak for yourself Pierce. I may get bitchy and peeved. But I'm essentially a good man. I have the capacity for empathy and tears and yes, often, to action and charity, when I see people who suffer.

My heart pumps more than just blood and venom.
