Ravishing. That picture never disappoints. My mother and father saw it on their honeymoon in April 1943. It was playing at the Loew's Sheridan on Greenwich Avenue. He was in the Navy and was in NYC for only a short time on leave. They honeymooned at the Grosvenor Hotel, now the Samuel Rubin International residence of NYU on Fifth Avenue. Fortunately, he returned safely from the Pacific, and the picture was always important to them. I remember watching it on TV with my mother and father, and they told us the story of how it was so meaningful to them.
LORD GORING. You see, Phipps, Fashion is what one wears oneself. What is unfashionable is what other people wear. PHIPPS. Yes, my lord. LORD GORING. Just as vulgarity is simply the conduct of other people. PHIPPS. Yes, my lord. LORD GORING. And falsehoods the truths of other people. PHIPPS. Yes, my lord. LORD GORING. Other people are quite dreadful. The only possible society is oneself.

Thanks. I never saw Casablanca until a couple of years ago :(). Then it quickly became my top 5 movie of all time.
I know many people who consider it their favorite movie. Who can blame them?
